Happy Monday, everyone! After taking a break from posting for a couple of weeks, I’m finally back. I hope all of you are doing well. Today, I wanted to share a quote from the novel Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
“I learned a long time ago we’ve control of little in this world, Amanda. It doesn’t belong to us. It’s out of our hands […] All we can change is the way we think and the way we live.”
Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love
Contrary to what many of us tend to think, the world is not in our hands. No matter how meticulously we plan our schedules or how hard we try to fix problems, some things are simply beyond our control. What we can control, however, is how we respond to our circumstances. We get to choose how we act when our car stops working, when we land our dream job, when we get diagnosed with an illness, and everything in between. Oh, and there is Someone who does hold the world in His hands. God offers us the choice to trust Him through all of these circumstances, and I think that’s what Francine Rivers was hinting at when she wrote this passage.
I hope you have a blessed week filled with hope and peace, regardless of the circumstances you’re facing in your life.
