Quote of the Week: “I suppose it’s like the ticking crocodile…”

Happy Monday! It’s hard to believe we’re already towards the end of June! But here we are, and I hope you are having a blessed month so far. If you haven’t already noticed from my previous posts, I’ve faced all kinds of changes this year, so I decided to post this quote from J.M. Barrie’s Peter Pan.

“I suppose it’s like the ticking crocodile, isn’t it? Time is chasing after all of us.”

Although this quote isn’t the most lighthearted, it got me thinking about the passing of time. As humans, we’re confined to a linear timeline. We can’t take back moments. We grow up. We learn. We meet new people and encounter new experiences. We achieve goals, and we make mistakes. Unfortunately, growing up isn’t as magical as Neverland, but it is beautiful. Change is natural, and we can’t stop time. So, instead of trying to run from it like running from a crocodile, maybe we should just enjoy the moments as they reach us.

As you go about your week, I encourage you to appreciate the season you’re in right now instead of trying to reclaim the past or change the future.
