Happy Monday, everyone! It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached June and are halfway through the year. I hope you have had a wonderful 2025 so far, and I hope it only gets better from here. For this first week in June, I want to share a quote about recognizing the significance of the little things in our lives.
“Never underestimate the big importance of small things.”
Matt Haig, The Midnight Library
Sometimes we can get so caught up in trying to reach a huge goal that we forget the significance of the small steps that lead us to it. Then we get frustrated when we do not reach our goals right away. If you’re trying to lose weight, a five-hour workout you do once will not help you achieve this goal. Instead, the half-hour workout that you do every day will help you. Similarly, if you want to build healthy relationships, taking someone out to a fancy restaurant once a year without doing anything else with that person will likely not get you the relationship you want. But if you regularly do small, yet thoughtful acts of love and kindness for that person, you probably will gain a healthier relationship.
As you go about your week, remember that there is a place for the little things in life, like going on walks or spending half an hour each evening with your family. They seem like small actions, but they can change your life.
May you have a beautiful week filled with gratitude and growth.
