Happy Monday! I hope you had a restful weekend. I was able to spend some extra time reading over the weekend. I’m in the middle of Kristin Hannah’s The Nightingale, so I thought I’d share a quote from it.
“In love we find out who we want to be; in war, we find out who we are.”
Kristin Hannah, The Nightingale
I was struck by the accuracy of this quote and realized that it doesn’t just pertain to actual war. Instead, it rings true for any trial we find ourselves in. When we love someone, we usually want to be more like them; hence, we see what type of person we aspire to be. Conversely, when we face trials and tribulations, how we react to them reveals our true character. If you have a compassionate and forgiving character, you will show forgiveness and kindness even when you are being hurt. If you are strong and brave, that strength will be revealed when you face the most difficult battle of your life. If you are faithful, that faith is revealed when you cannot see proof.
So, how do you handle conflict? This is just something to keep in mind as you go about your week.
May you have a lovely week filled with growth.
