Happy Monday! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get caught up in what I can and can’t do, letting my skills define me. This classic Harry Potter quote discusses this struggle.
“It is our choices…that show who we really are, far more than our abilities.”
J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
Failing your history exam doesn’t make you a failure, and not landing a job because you were unqualified doesn’t mean you’re not good enough. We all have different skill sets and gifts. All of us also fall short and make mistakes. We can’t always control what abilities we’re gifted with, but we can control how we use those skills.
This week, I encourage you to stop worrying about whether your skills are good enough and choose to do better. Work on improving the skills you want to get better at. Practice humility and ask for help if you need it. Help those around you. Spread joy and kindness.
I hope you have a lovely week! And as always,
