Happy Monday, everyone! This week’s quote is more unique than usual, but it’s thought-provoking and applicable. It’s from a contemporary novel called Piranesi, and if you haven’t read it, I highly recommend!
“It is not his fault that he does not see the things that I do.”
Susanna Clarke, Piranesi
Not everyone sees things the same way. You might see the rainbow when all your friends see is the rain. Sometimes we think, “If only he or she understood. If only they knew what I know.” It’s easy to get angry at people for not knowing and seeing what we do. Getting impatient with them, however, doesn’t solve anything. People can’t always control what they know, so we should give them a little grace. Think about all of the things you don’t know yourself. Would you rather have someone get angry with you for not knowing or teach you what you don’t understand? Treat others the same way.
I hope you have the most beautiful week! Fill it with empathy, patience, and love for those around you.
